This original necklace by Toki Yuite combines the unparalleled beauty of "Nenkin" (Twisted Golden Thread) with the delicate charm of mother of pearl. Crafted by Masuya Takao, a fourth-generation master of Nishijin weaving, the Nenkin thread used in this piece is a modern recreation of the threads once used in the treasured textiles of the Owari Tokugawa family.

The thread is made by skillfully wrapping fine layers of gold leaf or lacquered foil around vibrantly dyed silk floss, resulting in a material that shimmers and transforms its brilliance with every movement and change of light. Paired with the natural iridescence of mother of pearl, this necklace captures the harmony of tradition and modern artistry.
